A Night of Krampus and Community

Krampusnacht is returning to OddPitch in a couple of weeks, and we’re once again leaning into the darker, weirder side of the holiday season for a night that celebrates local art, pinball, and community—all while raising money for a great cause.

For anyone unfamiliar with the tradition, Krampusnacht comes from Alpine folklore, where the horned, mischievous Krampus accompanies Saint Nicholas during the holiday season. While Saint Nick rewards the good children, Krampus handles the naughty ones. It’s a strange and slightly spooky tradition that feels right at home at OddPitch.

This year’s Krampusnacht will once again support Watson Children’s Shelter, a local organization that provides safety and support for children in crisis. Throughout the evening there will be several ways to contribute, making it easy for everyone in the room to be part of giving back.

One of the highlights of the night will be photo ops with Krampus himself. If you’ve ever wanted a holiday photo that’s a little less wholesome and a little more chaotic, this is your chance. Every dollar raised from the photo ops will go directly to Watson Children’s Shelter.

Starting at 5:00 PM, the taproom will also host a local artist pop-up market featuring seven Missoula artists. It’s a great opportunity to browse handmade art, prints, and other creative work while supporting local makers and finding some unique holiday gifts.

For the competitive crowd, the evening will also feature a special Krampusnacht Pinball Tournament beginning at 6:00 PM. Entry is $25, and all registration fees will be donated directly to Watson Children’s Shelter. Players will compete for OddPitch gift cards, with $100 for first place, $50 for second, and $25 for third.

Even if you’re just coming by to hang out, grab a drink, and enjoy the atmosphere, you’ll still be helping the cause. A portion of taproom sales throughout the evening will also be donated to the shelter, meaning every pint poured contributes to their mission.

Krampusnacht has quickly become one of our favorite seasonal events at OddPitch. It’s a little spooky, a little chaotic, and a whole lot of fun. Most importantly, it brings together artists, players, and the community for a night that celebrates creativity while supporting an organization doing meaningful work here in Missoula.

Mark your calendar, bring your holiday mischief, and come spend the evening with Krampus.
